Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated January 2, 1956 reads, "Standard Oil Company of California chose to depict 'Venetian Splendor,' above, in their beautiful Paradena [sic] parade entry. Parade viewers saw couple propelled in their gondola through Grand Canal of Venice in stirring entry. Canal in foreground is spanned with bridge. Authentic patterns and ornaments decorated canal walls and bridge and live trees and huge bouquets in colorful 'ceramins' [sic] lined canal. Ladies along parade route had special eye for corsages of orchids which filled trees on float. Base of long entry was curved to give canal effect. Pasadena organization which sponsors annual event now numbers 1,300 members. Work of producing annual affair is accomplished in its myriad details by 30 committees."; See images #00144259 through #00144264 for all photos in this series.
