Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated February 20, 1962 reads "Robert J. Stegen, manager of antenna and microwave systems for the Canoga Electronics Corp., Van Nuys, scans the atmosphere next to one of the company's trackers in an attempt to pick up Glenn's voice as he passer over the Southern California area in his orbital flight. The antenna failed on the first two orbits, Stegen said, because Glenn's capsule was too far south and his voice couldn't be located on the radio. But hopes were up for the third orbit, which would pass nearer the Valley. The company built the vital tracking equipment for the historic ride." The company is at 15330 Oxnard Street.
