Description
A woman facing left in a long-sleeved dress of red with black polka dots. The bodice and skirt are trimmed with three white horizontal bands with black stitching that end at the front with round ornaments. The upper two bands on the bodice are extended visually onto the upper sleeves. The sleeves are narrow and close fitting, with a narrow ruffle at the wrist below another white band. The waistband or belt is also white. Under the bodice she wears a very high necked brocade patterned white and pink blouse. There are four little black bows on the center front of the bodice. There are three horizontal bands on the skirt on the back two thirds of the skirt, also ending in front with round ornaments. Below the lowest band, the lower section of the skirt is gathered to create more fullness at the back, and the entire skirt is finished with a narrow ruffle. She is wearing a white hat decorated with red feathers and black bows. The background is patterned with light green flowers. To the right is a black and white sketch of the back view of the dress.
