Description: Group portrait of business men and employees posed at the entrance of the offices of Shewan, Tomes and Co., there are both European and Chinese individuals. ❧ Shewan, Tomes and Co. was established in 1895 when Scottish born Robert George Shewan (1859-1934) and Charles Alexander Tomes (1854-1933) merged their companies. The business was based in Shanghai and was involved in import and export.
