Description
Rita Moreno won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role of "Anita" in the movie, "West Side Story."
Photograph caption dated April 10, 1962 reads, "Had she lost, Best Supporting Actress Rita Moreno said she had her 'loser's face ready to turn on.' In winning, she 'turned on' more faces than the International Press Corps could capture on even their fastest film. Valley Times TODAY photographer Jeff Goldwater, who took all these Oscar pictures, was able to snare the above expressions as Miss Moreno flitted from mood to mood. The second one from the right must have come when someone asked 'How do you spell your first name, Miss Lenya?'"; See images #00122731 through #00122743 for all photos in this series.
