Description
Postcard--photo- black and white: Train engine with two men, Guerneville, about 1900. Background: Train engine #99 was purchased by the San Francisco and Northwestern Pacific railroad in 1898. It was dubbed the "Coffee Grinder", and spent its entire life on the Russian River branch hauling logs or river passengers and locals. The mechanism on the front was sort of a portable donkey engine used for dragging logs. The engine was sold in 1910 to the North Bend Lumber Co.
