Description
Image of a parlor with a man and woman fighting across a writing table while a woman holds a letter in her hand and another man enters the room through curtains; with a head-and-shoulders profile portrait of actor and dramatist John A. Stevens at top right; a printed date sheet advertising performances beginning on September 27, [1886], at the Grand Opera House in Brooklyn, New York, is pasted to the bottom of poster; the poster advertises the melodrama "A Great Wrong Righted" (also titled "A Great Wrong") written by Stevens.
Date based on month and day in date sheet; the play was performed at the Grand Opera House on September 27, 1886 (Odell, Annals of the New York Stage, Vol. XIII, page 360). "Great Western Pr. Eng + Lith Co. St. Louis 475"--text, bottom right. ""Now I Know You Are Not My Son.""--text, caption, bottom centered. "Grand Opera House / Brooklyn. / One Week, / Commencing / Monday, Sept. 27 / Matinee Wednesday and Saturday."--text, date sheet attached at bottom.
