Description
A race car with number 6 is seen stopped on the road in an automobile race, presumably the Vanderbilt Cup Race in Santa Monica, California, where road races were held on city streets. A "Pendleton System" scoreboard and palm trees are in the background. Names and cars of drivers, cars, and numbers on signs are "Fiat, Frank Verbeck," "Alco, Tony Janette," and "15 Marmon, Guy Ball."
Presumed title, location, and date devised by cataloger based on information about the Vanderbilt Cup Race of February 26, 1914, corresponding to the signs in image, listed in "The Club Journal," March 14, 1914, page 816). See related image of racer Frank Verbeck.
