Description
Silver metal spoon with an image of a Portola Festival princess in the bowl labeled: "California." The handle shows a bust of Don Gaspar de Portola the explorer who is credited with the European discovery of the San Francisco Bay on November 4, 1769. In 1909, 3 years after the great earthquake, San Francisco celebrated the rebirth of the city with the Portola Festival.
