Description
Title supplied by cataloger.; Photograph was edited for publication purposes.; Photograph included in the Exhibit: All Rise! Hollywood & the Herald Go to Court.
Photograph caption dated March 9, 1936 reads, "Conferring over his suit to break his film contract, James Cagney is shown in court here today with his brother, Bill Cagney, who is his business manager, and Bill Cagney's actress-wife, Boots Mallory. James Cagney, at left, sat most of the time in bored silence today while attorneys argued over what happened in a 'little room' during a salary row. Cagney says the studio promised he'd only have to make four pictures a year. Studio aides deny any such pact was made."
