Written on back: "Miss Marlene Adams (left), of the San Francisco Scout Council office, gives barbecue tickets to Boy Scout Bill Conklin (right), 11, 1681-10th Ave., of Troop 95, and a new boy he has recruited into the Boy Scouts of America as part of the 'Maverick Roundup' citywide campaign being held in connection with the appearance of Warner Bros. star, James 'Maverick' Garner at the 1958 Scout-O-Rama, Cow Palace, April 18 and 19. Bill and his 'Maverick,' Som Raj Bhalla, 12, 1556-10th Ave., and all other San Francisco Scouts who recruit new member 'Mavericks' will attend a giant barbecue hosted by Garner at the Cow Palace on Saturday afternoon, April 19. Som, a former Boy Scout in his native India, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bal Raj Bhalla. Som's father is counsular asistant to the India Consulate General here in San Francisco. PR 1293A.
