Shows Agnes Morely Cleaveland on porch of Morley-Cleaveland ranch, near Datil, New Mexico.
Born in 1874 in Cimarron, New Mexico. Family moved to ranch near Datil, New Mexico around 1883 where Agnes and her brother took over running the ranch. Married Newton Cleaveland in 1899, moved to Berkeley, California where became active in politics and local affairs. Prolific writer, works appearing in newspapers and journals, wrote "No life for a lady" about her time on the ranch. In 1944, retired to Datil ranch.
