Description
Front view of Howe's Academy at the corner of Ninth and I Streets. Edward Howe, Jr. was Principal. The Academy provided training in elementary grades and high school education. Classes taught included Elocution, French, German. Bookkeeping, Shorthand, and Typewriting. The school was located at 1019 J Street in 1900, 1028 J Street in 1906 and it moved to 831 I Street after 1917 as Howe's Normal Academy and Business College.
