Description
Photograph of the barracks for the employees of Hoover Dam, ca.1933. Rocks sink into the light sand of the river's bank in the foreground while a dirt hill stands against the rock walls of the canyon at center. Several long, lightly-colored buildings spotted with many windows stand in the slope of the hill near to the level of the thin road which rides along the hill's edge. The river winds around the hill and out of sight through the canyon in the background.
