Written on back of photograph: "Memorial Day Parade 1885 incorrect date; Memorial Day Parade 1885 The Carleton[sic] Hotel was not built until 1886; railways (horse cars) appeared in fall of 1886; San Gabriel Valley Bank was erected late 1886. Earliest possible date for picture is May 1887." Carlton Hotel is the structure in the middle left of the photograph.
