Wyvernwood Housing complex with 2-story units divided by greenbelt and walkways under construction.
Streetscape. Horizontal photography. The complex was built by Lindgren and Swinerton, Inc. in 1939.
Wyvernwood Housing, a garden apartment complex located at 2901 East Olympic Boulevard, was designed in 1939. Privately funded through Federal Housing Administration loans and privately owned, it still exists (as of August 2014). Wyvernwood was the first housing project of its kind in Southern California. Architects: David J. Witmer and Loyall F. Watson. Landscape Architect: Hammond Sadler. General Contractor: Lindgren and Swinerton. [Biography]
