Description
The woman wears a deep purple walking dress with a scalloped cape collar. The dress has long sleeves decorated with buttons and vertical zigzags on the sleeve above the cuffs. The skirt is adorned with several horizontal purple bands and a large row of zigzags bordered above with a row of alternating purple bows and flowers. Two white, lace ruffs stand up from the cape collar and reach the woman's chin. She wears a large, dusky blue hat which has an elaborate crown and which ties under the chin with a large bow. The woman has pointed, black shoes, pale gloves, a long, gold necklace, and two gold bracelets, one on each wrist. She stands outside, on grass. Flowers and trees are visible in the distance. Written in pencil in the lower right-hand corner is "'26".
