Description
Photograph of an eastward view of Marchessault Street in Los Angeles's Chinatown, showing a laundry truck, November 1933. A two-story brick building can be seen at center. It is a long structure with rows of arched windows and doors visible along its length. At the base of the building on the far left, the only window with a visible awning has a shattered pane. Two recessed balconies are visible, one near each corner of the building. A paved road runs from the foreground at left to the background at right. A truck belonging to the Hop Yuen Hand Laundry can be seen parked along the side of the road at right. A man wearing a cap stands near the doorway closest to the truck. Atop the large building, a tall pole topped with a small sphere can be seen.
