Photograph caption dated April 30, 1964 reads, "The fisherman who catches the largest trout opening day, May 2, at Crowley Lake will win this handsome award. It is the Mel Morrison Trophy, given each year by H. Werner Buck (right), producer of the Los Angeles Sportsmen’s Show, in memory of his late partner. At the left is Black Jones, fishing guide on Crowley Lake. Last Year’s winner was David Y. Uchita, of West Los Angeles, who nailed a 6-pound, 15-ounce brown trout the first day at Crowley."
