One of the three notes shown to Joan Barry when she was cross-examined by the defense attorney during the paternity suit against Charlie Chaplin. The left side of the note reads, "If only Charles has provided means for me to live, I would have wanted to know you [illegible] Forgive me Mommy." The right side of the note reads, "Forgive me. I cannot get him out of my system. I did come for you." Photograph dated December 25, 1944.
