General Atomics was created for the purpose of harnessing the power of nuclear technologies for the benefit of mankind. GA is one of the world's leading resources for development in nuclear science. Areas of specialty include: remotely operated surveillance aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.
Looking northwest towards the coast in La Jolla, with the Pacific Ocean in the far background. Two years after this photograph was taken, a 120-acre facility, designed by the architectural firm of Pereira & Luckman, was completed on this site for General Atomics company. Photograph dated February 20, 1956.
