Description
Shown in 1915, East Lawn Cemetery offered interment beginning in 1904 on 40 acres once used for farming. The business expanded to include funeral operations and cremation and the mausoleum and administration buildings went up in 1926. A water tower, irrigation system and fields of flowers for sale and decoration followed and in 1989 the East Lawn Children’s Park near the entrance to the original plot became a reality. The importance of the elevation listed on the front of the card refers to prior occurrences at other cemeteries where rising water had flooded the grounds and displaced coffins and cadavers.
