Photograph commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Revd. Tan Soan-leng as Pastor. Tan Soan-leng was ordained in 1877 and commenced his pastorate at Quanzhou in 1877. "The Prefect of the city (4th from left, front row) and the subordinate mandarins were present and took part in the celebrations." Edward Band, Working his Purpose Out, p.310. A set of group photographs taken in the Amoy [Xiamen] mission field ca. 1890-1910. Groups include missionaries from the American (Dutch) Reformed Church, the London Missionary Society, and English Presbyterian Mission. The Xiamen mission field included Xiamen, Chuan-chow [Quanzhou], Chang-chow [Zhangzhou], Chang-pu [Zhangpu] and ?Sio-klu districts.
