Photograph of a steamboat filled with troops leaving San Francisco for Hawaii, [s.d.]. A large ship can be seen crowded with people above deck and along ropes, which are attached to the top of a mast the people seem to be waving while holding their hats with one hand. A second mast has the flag of the United States on its top a second flag is noticeable at the end of the ship. What appears to be steam is visible from above a large chimney, positioned in between the masts, and below deck. Water surrounds the sailing vessel and extends towards the horizon, which is visible in the left background.
