Paul Otto Henning (1857 in Strassburg, Alsace - 1928 in Porto Alegre, Brazil) became a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine in South Africa after he had married Elsbeth Gemuseus in 1891. There he served as head of the church assembly, superintendent and also as chairman of the German mission directorate from 1906 onwards. He visited East Africa in 1905/06. He retired in 1924.--Stern, Rudolf Leupold(t), theologist, born June 15th, 1865 in Gorakhpur, East India, died March 12th, 1923 in Schönbruch, East Prussia. He married Hanna Binder in 1894 and the couple took up missionary work in Suriname that same year until 1897. From 1898-1908 Stern worked as a missionary in East Africa (1898 Urambo, 1899 Kiwere: foundation of a new mission station, 1906-08 Sikonge). In 1908 the couple returned to Germany.
