The Forest Service lookout station on Buck Rock (elevation 8505 feet) affords a magnificent view of the high peaks of the Sierras. It is only eight miles distant from Whitaker's Forest 4-H camp, and a visit here is a never-to-be-forgotten experience for a club member. There are 102 steps in the ladders up to the house.
