Currie is seated facing the camera with one boy kneeling on either side of him and one boy standing behind his chair. Rev. Adam Currie (1865-1951 ) was born in Leith, Edinburgh and educated at Edinburgh University. He was an ordained missionary who worked in Mlanje, Malawi from 1891 till 1894. He went on to become Minister of the North Parish Greenock in Scotland on the 29th of April 1898. He married Jessie Monteath in 1892 and had a son Adam Currie (1894-1918)
