Photograph caption dated September 22, 1949 reads, "William A. Gaumer, of 616 Allen Ave., Glendale, has applied for a patent on his new-type lock for windows. Feature of the gadget is it will allow locking of the window in any position, from closed to part way open. It also does away with any form of sash cord and weight."
