After the estate left the Bernheimer family, it became the headquarters for the exclusive Hollywood "400 Club," an organization for the elite of the motion picture industry. After WWII, the estate was remodeled and converted into apartments. Soon thereafter, Thomas O. Glover purchased the property and began the restoration of what was to become the Yamashiro restaurant. The exact location of the structure on the property is not indicated. A rock footpath guides the way to a small structure via a Japanese style footbridge on the grounds of the Bernheimer Estate, located at 1999 N. Sycamore Avenue in Hollywood. The terraces of the estate include 30,000 varieties of trees, shrubs, waterfalls, hundreds of goldfish, and even exotic birds and monkeys and were superbly landscaped in the Japanese tradition.
