Description
V1p377c In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 377 bottom. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written on photo: "1910. Looking north along Van Ness Ave. from Market." The photo shows the California Volunteers' Memorial at Market and Van Ness, which was later moved up market to the corner of Dolores Street. Van Ness stretches behind it, with double street lamps marching down its center. A young boy is crossing Van Ness at the left. A sign on the building at the corner advertises Ruhstaller Lager.
