Description
Shown in circa 1925 is a fleet of military planes near Sacramento's Mather Field. The maintenance and approval for funding of Mather Field occurred in 1922, and the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce began a campaign to house the Army 9th Corps at Mather soon afterwards.
The people of the city of Sacramento further contracted ‘airplane fever’ when Mather Air Field hosted a successful international air circus in May 1925.
