8 Eldridge Ave. Description from the 1981 Walk into History: "You will see an old iron fence & gateway at #8 Eldridge, and next to it, a large garage, both under the same ownership. The house was once the stable for the Billings estate across Eldridge: it was rolled across the street from the extate in 1920, and converted into a rental house by the Billings. (The garage was built by Billings after they gave up horses, and began to use cars.) It has recently been much enlarged and altered."
