48."--text, bottom left of image. Title and date supplied by cataloger from caption for reproduction of image in Ernest Marquez publication Santa Monica Beach (Angel City Press, 2004), p. 17. This was the first hotel in Santa Monica and part of the caption reads: "The smaller structure in the foreground had an office, dining room, bar and baths on the first floor and sleeping rooms upstairs. The larger building with four chimneys housed sleeping quarters.
