Photograph caption dated December 21, 1956 reads “Large crane in background looks like miniature compared with this curving ramp mounted in giant pillars which will eventually tie into Golden State Freeway in Griffith Park area. This freeway is now under construction between Alameda avenue and Glendale avenue near Los Angeles River bed. It will provide an exit from Los Angeles to Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys via Newhall pass where it will link with San Diego Freeway paralleling Sepulveda boulevard.” See images 00146988 through 00146995 for all photos in this series.
