Aerial view of Lakewood Lanai Apartments, located at 8840 Lindell Avenue in the city of Downey; view is looking northeast. The apartments, built by Award Homes Inc. (also called Volk-McLain Co.) and opened on August 1955, are situated on the northside of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway (visible at the extreme bottom. Lakewood Boulevard is along the extreme left, Telegraph Road runs horizontally across the middle, and Arrington Avenue is on the right. Photograph dated September 27, 1955.
