Photograph caption dated December 26, 1964 reads "Preparing gifts. The Girls' League of Pacoima Junior High School began a schoolwide project to aid the patients at Camarillo State Hospital. Here, Lorelie Carroll, 14, left, and Ramona Mankiller, 12, prepare gifts for wrapping while in the back Ann Worth, 14, seated and Sherry Phelps, 14, inspect the wrappings. The gifts, designed principally for the teen-age patients at the hospital, include handy items like the portable hair-dryer shown in the photograph and handmade 'mad' pillows stuffed with nylons that can be bashed about without causing any damage to the patients."; See images #00144456 through #00144459 for all photos in this series.
