Chemonite wood preservative. Tests posts 4" x 6" white fir set by Diamond Match Company at Stirling City, California. Post to right is treated, one to left is an untreated check. Ground line marked with white chalk. Note perfect condition of treated post and decay in the check post. Both pieces from same 16' stick. The treated post was removed and split in half with axe. See #6978 for internal condition. One half taken to Berkeley. Other half returned to the test ground. See #6976. 8-6-41. E.F
