Description
A woman wears a ball dress of 1811. Her dress is white and ankle length, with short-sleeves and pink trim and pink accents. The bodice has a very low, square neck with a narrow standing lace collar. The top and bottom edges of the bodice are trimmed with bands of narrow pink ribbon. A small bunch of pink flowers and green leaves is attached to the left corner of the neck. Her skirt is long and white with a white transparent overskirt. Pink ribbon and a long strand of pearls are twisted into a rope and trim the hem of the undergown. The overskirt has a scalloped hem edged with pink ribbon and at each point of the scalloping, small yellow flowers with green leaves are attached or embroidered. She wears white gloves, a white pearl necklace, white pearl drop earrings, and white shoes with tiny pink bows on the front. Pink ribbon and a long strand of pearls are twisted into a rope that matches the hem and is wrapped once around her head and around her bun, as a type of turban.
