Photograph article dated March 13, 1954 partially reads, "A plush Air Force C-47 transport, four shiny stars glistening beneath the pilot's window, thrilled a group of 16 Dutch employes [sic] of Lockheed Aircraft Corp. as its wheels touched down at Lockheed Air Terminal, Burbank, today. On board was tall, air-minded Prince Bernhard of The Netherlands. The prince, in full Royal Netherlands Air Force uniform, stepped briskly from the plane, shook hands with Robert E. Gross, Lockheed president, and Hall Hibbard, vice president in charge of engineering, then, followed by his personal aide, Col. G. Sonderman, RNAF, moved to where his 16 countrymen, some of whom have been in the United States only a few weeks, had formed a reception line." Photograph caption reads, "Royalty in Valley - Prince Bernhard of The Netherlands, left, is greeted by Robert E. Gross, Lockheed president, on arrival at Lockheed Air Terminal, Burbank, today for tour of aviation plant."
