Description
Neile McQueen Toffel discusses her book, “My Husband, My Friend.” She begins by explaining that she was a dancer on Broadway when she met actor Steve McQueen, and the two became married. She talks about how she had to treat her husband differently as he grew more famous. She shares that she was also his agent and advisor, and would tell him how to behave in public. She describes how she handled his indiscretion, abusiveness, and seeing other women. Toffel talks about being raised in the Philippines and being exposed to a male-dominant culture. She ends the interview by discussing the divorce from McQueen, and who stayed her friend after they split.
