Description
As steady rain fell on Pershing Square, officials observing Martin Luther King Jr. week held hands during the singing of "We Shall Overcome." From left: Dr. Joseph Lowery, SCLC National President; Rev. James Lawson, Holman Methodist Church; State Senator Nate Holden; Mexican-American community leader David Ochoa; SCLC West head Manesba Tackett; Dr. Ernie Smith, Drew Postgraduate Medical School; and Evelyn Occina, SCLC West board member. The program followed a memorial march on January 14, 1978.
