Description
Jackie Robinson left Los Angeles today (Sunday) via United Air Lines for Vero Beach, Florida, to report for spring training practice with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson has been in Hollywood working on the Jackie Robinson story. Delay in shooting final film scenes caused him to report late. A mortal sin in annals of baseball. Robinson said, "I'm late for practice because the club manager gave me special permission to finish final outdoor film scenes which were held up by bad weather." Photo dated: March 6, 1950.
