Photograph article dated January 18, 1962 partially reads, "Three prominent Valley women will be among those who wear the coveted gold Hourglass charms following the sixth annual Hilltopper Brunch at 11 a.m. Jan. 31 at Sportsmen's Lodge, 12833 Ventura Blvd., North Hollywood. Because of the Valley's population surge and the increase of its women citizens who give countless hours toward the betterment of their community, the Hilltoppers of the Assistance League of Southern California will award three, instead of the customary one, Hourglass Awards. The women will be given the awards in the areas of civic leadership, cultural advancement and philanthropic service. Eighteen candidates, representing many phases of community life, have been nominated by various Valley organizations." Pictured are nominees for the Hourglass Award, front row, Mmes. Taylor P. Reynolds, San Fernando, left, and Robert E. Hiller, Burbank; back row, Mmes. Joseph Caprio, North Hollywood, left, and Allen K. Wood, Sherman Oaks.; See images #00130604 through #00130609 for all photos in this series.
