Description
Dick Wimmer discusses his book, “The Wildly Irish Sextet.” He begins by explaining that he used his main character in other books before. He talks about the plot of the novel: an Irish painter who has an art show, is accused of murdering his father’s ex-lover. Wimmer says that he got some inspiration for his book after reading J. P. Donleavy’s novel, “Ginger Man.” He talks about his life as a college professor, and his romantic involvement with former students. Martinson asks Wimmer to read a passage about the main character’s love for his wife. He ends the interview by describing his time at Cornell and his friendship with Vladimir Nobokov.
