Description
A: Nylon gauze over white marquisette dress with 2 1/2" loopy flower design lace trim. B: Satin slip or under dress. C: Headpiece with veil. A: Described in wedding announcement as "a gown of white marquisette fashioned with full bodice and trimmed with lace." Long straight sleeve, lace covered puffed cap stuffed with horsehair pillow. Wrist opening has six satin covered 1/2" buttons with loop closures. Bodice has V neck edged with lace and cumberbund style waist banded by lace, and is gathered at bust into waist. Back straight opening has 31 satin covered 1/2" buttons with loop closures. Skirt gathers into waist. Length varies from 39" across front, to 74" train at center back, starting at side seams. Hem banded by same 2 1/2" lace. Three cord loops on hem for forming the train into dance length. B: Heavy satin slip. Slight V neck in front, scoop neck in back. Ribbon straps. Left side metal 12" zipper. C: Net, bead and wire tiara forms 3/4 oval opening.. Lightly scalloped along top edge. Smocked with pearly beads at intersections. Wires form the structure. Elastic cord across 6" opening. Very fine tulle veil was attached at base. Described in wedding announcement: "veil of finger-tip length was held in place by a crown of white tulle trimmed with pearls."
