Description: Swiss runner Gabriela Andersen-Schiess lurched to the finish lines into the arms of medical personnel, waiting there...and is carried off the track. She suffered severe dehydration after failing to replenish fluids lost during the race. One official called it, "one of the most courageous things I've ever seen." Photo dated: August 6, 1984.
