Description
Photograph of women marching in the Preparedness Day Parade, Los Angeles, 1916. Nine women employed by the Post Offcie in lightly-colored blouses and long skirts march in a rank at the corner of Third Street and Broadway, holding American flags. Behind them, a rank of men in suits and hats do the same. Streetcar rails are visible in the unpaved street beneath them, while spectators can be seen in the background in front of a collection of canopied commercial buildings. Legible signs read: "Drugs", "Regal Shoe Store", and "Mandegrift's Economic Shoes".
