Text: “Uttara Mula was the name identifying the most ancient congregation of Bhikkhus of the Abhayagiri monastery and their headquarters. In ancient times, the Uttara Mula monks were the custodians of the sacred Tooth Relic.” A ground plan identifying several pañcāvāsa residential units and the sacred Tooth Relic shrine is also included here.
