Photograph article dated September 13, 1962 partially reads, "Melvin Helstein has pulled many strings in his profession - but then it's expected of him. He is the creator and the voice, action and words of the world of bright and comical figures who have enchanted children and adults alike. As Helstein explains, his creations aren't people - they are puppets or marionettes satirizing people. In love with his work, Helstein, assistant professor of theater arts at UCLA, is saddened by the gradual decline in puppetry as a folk art." Pictured here are Sicilian marionettes.; See image #00132442 for additional photo in this series.
