Description
Women in parade costumes,a ladies' auxilary to a fraternal organization, wend their way along K Street near Tenth. Businesses along the route include Fox Senator Theatre (912 K Street), Capital Clothing Company (916 K Street), Schramm-Johnson Drugs (930 K Street), Auslender's Women's Clothing (1000 K Street), Watkin's Florist (1002 K Street), Grebitus Jewelers (1004 K Street), and Hotel Land (1106 Tenth Street). An Elks' Club flag is visible near the top of the photograph. A sign near the Hotel Land advertises it as the campaign headquarters of Frank Merriam's race for Governor. The photographs were taken in 1934.
